Intended use
SoundTesters offers free browser-based checks for microphone signals, stereo output, headphones and supported 5.1 channel routing. You may use the available controls to check equipment you are entitled to use. An account is not required.
Keep test levels comfortable
Begin with a low system volume and increase it gradually only when needed. Stop a sound that feels uncomfortable. Do not raise the volume to force a low or high frequency to become audible. Use headphones when enabling microphone monitoring so a speaker does not feed back into the microphone.
Use permission and recording controls responsibly
Only activate a microphone or record audio when you have permission to do so. Consider the privacy of other people nearby. You control any recording you choose to download and where you store or share that file. SoundTesters does not provide an audio-sharing service.
Do not disrupt the service
Do not attempt to bypass security controls, interfere with other visitors, distribute malicious code through the service, or deliberately overload the website. These tools do not authorize access to anyone else’s devices or accounts.
Results and availability
The tools and explanatory content are provided as available. Features can change, and browser, driver, operating-system and hardware behavior can affect results. No particular level of availability, hardware compatibility or diagnostic accuracy is promised. Use the testing disclaimer to understand what a result can and cannot establish.
