SOUNDTESTERS / AUDIO KNOW-HOW

Accessibility

Audio tools should be clear to navigate, understand and stop.

Using the controls

The interface is designed for keyboard navigation using native links, buttons, sliders and form controls, with visible focus indicators and labels. Use Tab to move between controls and Enter or Space to activate the selected control where supported. The Escape key stops generated sound and the active microphone test.

Signals beyond sound

The microphone test includes a visual waveform and digital level readings. Output tests display the selected channel and a text status as they run. Playback begins only after you choose a test, and stop controls remain available. Audio channel checks still require listening or a suitable external measurement to confirm where the sound physically goes.

Permission and motion

The microphone request appears only after Start mic test. Live monitoring is off by default. The design supports reduced-motion preferences, and the page can be zoomed using your browser’s controls. Hiding the page stops active capture and generated playback.

Known practical limits

Browser behavior and assistive-technology support can vary. An online listening check is not a substitute for an accessible hearing assessment or an acoustic measurement tool. We do not claim certification to an accessibility standard or compatibility with every browser and assistive setup.

Report a barrier

Use the contact page to report an inaccessible control, unclear label, difficult contrast or another barrier. Include the page, browser, assistive technology if relevant, and the step you could not complete. Do not include private recordings or sensitive personal information.
