Last updated: November 1, 2026. This notice describes the current SoundTesters audio tools and website, operated by Nasir Aziz Awan.
Microphone access is your choice
The microphone tool requests access only after you select Start mic test. It requests audio, not camera video. The stream is analyzed locally to draw the waveform and estimate digital signal levels. SoundTesters does not upload that stream or send microphone recordings to its server. Speaker, headphone and surround output tests do not need microphone permission.
Local sample recordings
Starting the mic test records a local sample for listening and stops after at most 30 seconds. Select Finish & listen to end the test, then Listen to my sample to play it back. Playback never starts automatically. The recording is held in browser memory for local playback or an optional download. Clear recording removes the page’s copy. Leaving or reloading the page releases its temporary recording URL. A file you choose to download remains on your device until you delete it.
Stop and permission controls
Finish & listen releases the active microphone tracks. Hiding or leaving the page stops capture and generated playback. Live monitoring is off by default and requires its own selection. Stopping a stream does not revoke a browser’s remembered site permission; you can change that separately in the site settings beside the address bar.
Cookies, storage and tracking
This version does not set analytics or advertising cookies or use local storage to track visitors. Test choices are temporary page state. A theme-only sessionStorage preference remembers light or dark mode for the current browser tab; it contains no audio or visitor identifier. It does not load remote fonts, advertising scripts, social-media embeds or third-party audio samples. Browser and hosting-provider security functions can operate separately from the tools.
Ordinary web requests and hosting logs
SoundTesters is hosted by HostArmada and delivered over HTTPS. Running a website can involve processing request information such as an IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser information and errors for service operation and security. Audio stays local does not mean web requests are anonymous. The tools do not attach your microphone audio to those requests.
When you contact the operator
This version has no SoundTesters contact form or user account. The contact page links to an existing support form on the related KeyboardTester website. If you choose to use that form, the details you submit are handled through that website and its privacy notice. Do not include passwords or private recordings in a support request.
External links and future features
External documentation and related websites have their own privacy practices when you choose to visit them. SoundTesters may grow with new tools and editorial content; this notice should be checked when using a new feature. No future analytics, advertising or upload feature is described as active here.
Questions or privacy requests
Use the owner’s existing support form on KeyboardTester.click and identify your message as a SoundTesters privacy question. Describe the request without including unnecessary sensitive information.
