# SoundTesters > Free browser audio tools for microphone recording, stereo routing, test tones and supported discrete 5.1 output. Audio is generated or processed on the visitor’s device. Microphone capture starts only after an explicit action and recordings are not uploaded. Star ratings are submitted separately to a first-party server and use an essential anonymous rating cookie. These tools do not provide calibrated hearing thresholds, sound-pressure levels, medical diagnoses or automatic wiring verification. Start at a low system volume. Stereo bass is not a discrete LFE test; discrete 5.1 requires at least six exposed output channels. ## Audio tools - [Microphone test](https://soundtesters.com/microphone-test/index.md): See your mic respond in real time.
